PHP517 Indigenous Public Health
Indigenous Public Health will examine public health from Indigenous perspectives, including the conceptualization, practice, and application of environmental health, epidemiology, public health policy, biostatistics, and program development and evaluation in Indigenous communities. Through discussion and interaction among students, the instructor, and guest speakers via Zoom (video and phone), participants will explore special topics such as MMIWG, the impacts of COVID-19 in Indigenous communities, Indigenous data sovereignty and governance, and Indigenous research and ethics. Learning and growth from the course can be applied within public health or to scholarship, practice, or activism in other disciplines.
