Undergraduate Student, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences & School of Government and Public Policy at the University of Arizona, and Mo’s Policy Scholar contributing to the Collaboratory for Indigenous Data Governance projects

Jordyn Leith Bailess is an undergraduate student currently pursuing a dual major in Global Studies and Political Science with a minor in Chinese Language. She was recently selected for the 2024 cohort of the University of Arizona Udall Center’s Mo’s Policy Scholars mentorship program. She will spend the Fall semester actively learning from and working alongside Dr. Taitingfong and other team members, contributing to the Collaboratory for Indigenous Data Governance projects, and more specifically focusing on creating web content on the C.A.R.E. maturity model. At the conclusion of this program, she will have gained a greater comprehensive understanding of Indigenous Data Sovereignty, which she then hopes to apply in greater professional settings upon her graduation.

Project(s):

The project I am currently working on involves contributing to the development of the CARE criteria as an assessment tool for Indigenous Data Governance. My role specifically is to create informative and engaging content for the website in order to increase public involvement.
