Webinar: Agreements & MOU’s as Strategic Tools for Indigenous Data Governance for Indigenous Peoples and Tribal Nations

Registration is now open for the upcoming webinar that is scheduled for 30 April 2025 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm Pacific.

We invite leaders, staff, and delegates* of Tribal Nations/Indigenous Peoples in the US; including Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or US island territories Indigenous nonprofits; and Alaska Native Corporations.  *Leaders may delegate staff or others to attend on their behalf. 

This webinar will provide foundational information around agreements, clauses, memorandums of understanding/agreements (MOU/MOAs) and other tools Indigenous Peoples/Tribal Nations can use to support Indigenous Data Sovereignty in a variety of ways and contexts. Different agreement types with examples will be examined. This webinar will also present strategies for advocating for Indigenous rights in agreements and other tools when dealing with different entities in formal and informal settings, including modification of others’ agreements. Attendees will also be given a list of resources and references for future use.
